Sandra Whipple, Office Manager
Sandra (Sandi) grew up in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in a large family. Her family traveled to Canada and the Northeastern States during summer camping trips. She grew up with five brothers learning many sports, though basketball was her passion.
In 1976, Sandra joined the United States Army, Military Intelligence. She spent her tour in Germany working in telecommunications and cryptography. She also played basketball representing the U.S. Military playing the teams of the European Theatre. She traveled much of Europe, with Germany always remaining her favorite. She left the Service as a Disabled Veteran.
Sandi received a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Criminal Justice from SUNY College of Technology at Utica in 1984, utilizing her G.I. Bill benefits. She worked as a Veterans’ Counselor during all four years of school. For the next ten years, Sandi worked with at-risk youth in New York City and Buffalo.
In 1994, Sandra, her Partner, and their daughter moved back to her hometown after purchasing her favorite piece of property as a child. She spent the next ten years renovating the 1875, 21-room farmhouse and landscaping its two acres. She was employed as the Administrative Director of NNYS Hospitality Centers, located at each of eight Upstate Correctional Facilities. Though idyllic, Sandra missed the city, so she moved back to the Buffalo area. Sandi started working for the Law Office of Lindy Korn PLLC in 2006. When New York passed the Marriage Equality Act in 2011, Sandi married Susan, her partner of eleven years.
